The Pulpwood Queen and Timber Guy Christmas Party Menu Announced!

Dear Readers,
You all, it's that time! Announcing The Pulpwood Queen and Timber Guy Christmas Party, Sunday, December 6th, 6:30 p.m. at the Austin Street Bistro, 117 East Austin, downtown historic Jefferson, Texas just next door to the Jefferson General Store. You all are invited but space is limited, call today to book your ticket to one wild party that's focus is on great times with a great read!
Ms. Gena will be preparing us an African feast as follows:
Bobotie - A South African sweet and spicey casserole made with a rich beef mince, saucy chutney, and creamy egg custard, roasted butternut squash with rosemary and lemonaide. For dessert, a South African caramel pudding with coffee.
Our special guest author will be Lt. Colonel Karl Lenker of "Final Trumpet", a novel of Rescue, Romance, and Revenge all set November 1993 in Somalia, Africa.
You all this book will get you from the get-go as a real page turner and since we invite in our husbands or Timber Guys in for our big Christmas ta do, I thought this book would have a big appeal for the men too! Here's the synopsis!
A young couple honeymooning on safari are wickedly attacked by ruthless elephant poachers - he is murdered, she is kidnapped. Their fathers, who served together as Army Rangers in Vietnam, agonize over the loss and choke on the certain truth that justice will never be served...that is until they decide to do what any outraged former special forces soldiers would do...hunt them down for themselves.
Karl Lenker , Lieutenant Colonel, USAF, retired fighter pilot, combat veteran (Bosnia), has logged over 29,000 hours in the air. Action is his middle name. Others write about on the-the-edge adventures...Karl Lenker lives them. Though recently retired from piloting Boeing jets around the world for Delta Air Lines, he now flies life-saving, EMS rescue missions, chases offshore race boats for TV, does television and movie shoots or explores central Florida swamps - all in helicopters. When he feels the need to back off a bit, he races his 930 Turbo Porshe, cruises A1A down the Florida coast on his Harley Davidson or flies his own airplane.
Final Trumpet is his debut novel. A portion of the proceeds from this books will be donated to organizations committed to protecting elephants around the world.
Karl's next novel, FOR DEAR LIFE, is now under construction.
So to keep in the spirit of the book, dress in animal print, bring a "White Elephant" gift for exchange, and let's end this reading season with a ROAR for READING!
You may bring in your own wine for the event.I should have the menu posted soon but I can assure you, Ms. Gena is preparing us an African meal worthy of any animal kingdom!
Um Ga Wah, see you at our last book club meeting of 2009 than on full steam ahead to our 10th Anniversary Girlfriend Weekend!
A Merry Christmas to All and to All to a Fabulous Night!
