Dear Readers,
As promised, here is another great photo from Girlfriend Weekend 2007 to entice you to attend our annual Pulpwood Queen convention which we call our Girlfriend Weekend Author Extravaganza. Pictured is The Pulpwood Queens of Tyler, Texas with Head Queen Julie Hardy, far left, and me, Kathy L. Patrick, far right. They were the winners of the coveted Best Girl Group Themed Costume Contest. Our theme last year was "Think 1962, Big Hair Do" to keep with the theme of HAIRSPRAY! Check out that trophy too as it's a keeper!
Next up big news as a feature on the online website, www.readinggroupguide.com of which I am a featured columnist:

You know big things always happen in Texas. I have the world's only Hair Salon/Book Store in the world that began in Texas, Beauty and the Book, I run the largest "meeting and discussing" book club that began in Texas, The Pulpwood Queens, and I run the most unusual author, book, and music festival that began in Texas, our Girlfriend Weekend Author Extravaganza! But I had a childhood friend and classmate from Kansas send me something today that makes me even more proud to be from Texas. Check out Jim Creswell's message to me below and then click on the incredible link that made me cry I was so proud of these young and so talented singers, again from Texas!
WOW! TURN THE VOLUME UP ! These kids are great!!!!
Awesome!
This was at a recent Texas Tech basketball game. The National Anthem is sung by five young ladies (ages 6-8). You have never heard it performed better than this! An entire arena remains completely silent throughout the song. You could hear a pin drop. Take a moment to listen to this.
The two young ladies on the right are six years old. The two in the middle are seven and the one on the left is eight.
Go to www.youtube.com and type in Texas Tech Basketball Game National Anthem and check out these little girls singing the National Anthem. Absolutely the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed and makes again PROUD to be a Texan!
