Dear Readers!
Yesterday I received my very first copy of the hardback Large Print of my book, "The Pulpwood Queens' Tiara wearing, Book Sharing Guide to Life", Thorndike Publishing. Check with your local independent bookstore or bookstore but you can order online from any of the major online booksellers, such as, www.amazon.com, www.barnesandnoble.com.
Excited because now for those of us visually challenged, we, and notice, I said, we, can read my book!
I also received our book of the month, "Where the River Ends" by Charles Martin and buy your tickets now, as we are almost full for our boat ride down the bayou here in Jefferson with Charles Martin on board. Tickets are $6.00 and you can book your ride by calling 903-665-7520.
I still have a few signed copies of author, Doug Crandell's books, "The Flawless Skin of Ugly People" and "Hairdos of the Mildly Depressed" left from his visit here for his book launch! Photos are from the event with Doug Crandell who was absolutely charming and highly entertaining as an author. We didn't leave the shop until almost ten o'clock. We have had the best authors visit this summer for sure!
Please remember also to review all the Pulpwood Queen authors books at the online booksellers websites. First, this establishes our Pulpwood Queen presence and selections on those sites. Second, publishers do check out our comments on the books we read. This can really help an undiscovered author get discovered in a big way which is our mission.
If you have not reviewed my book, "The Pulpwood Queens' Tiara Wearing, Book Sharing Guide to Life", please do. This will enter your name into a drawing September 1, 2008 for a complimentary Pulpwood Queen VIP Pass to all events at our annual Author Extravaganza: Girlfriend Weekend, the third weekend in January 2009. Also if you buy your packages now, you get an Early Bird Special of $150.00 which is a deal. At the door it will be $350 for all events and if you win in the drawing, that fee will be refunded to you.
Happy Summer Reading and do know I am severely handicapped right now, as my laptop crashed and working with the family computer at home which runs on a language I barely understand, ha ha ha! Hope to be back in the know next week.
Tiara wearing and Book sharing,

P.S. A big Pulpwood Queen Thank You for the Queens, Rosemary and Linda who traveled from Natchitoches, La, author Tracy Carnes of "Excess Baggage" and her friend, Anne, coming from Shreveport, La to our Book Launch for Doug Crandell. I am always amazed by the dedication of my Queens to support author and book events including my hometown chapter girls, Tiajuana and Wendy. I am keeping track of those who attend and support my book events so know, you will be recognized and awarded at Girlfriend Weekend.

Hello,
I was curious what you might think about this site. It kind of reminds me of a book club, but people are discussing the show Saving Grace instead of a book: http://www.embraceyourgrace.com.
The site was created by TNT as a community site for discussion of their show. TNT hired 6 influential women to head up the community as bloggers: a novelist, a comedian, a musician, a journalist, and the creator of the show, Nancy Miller.
These women provoke discussion of topics that arise in the show by writing daily posts and posing discussion questions for users to answer. Users can blog on the site too and contribute to forums.
Anyway, the type of questions and responses remind me of a book club. Would be interested to hear what you think…Do you think that discussion of a show can be as lively and community-building as discussion of a book?
